I planned to work from home today because my right eye decided to present itself with a splendid little infection. But then I got an email saying not to do any work, but to rest and come back tomorrow.
I almost can't get over how wonderfully low-stress it is at this new place. Deadlines can be extended for weeks. Nobody shouts or cries here. Profit isn't everything. Everyone is well looked after. I wondered at the start how I would adjust to such a different work philosophy. But, as it turns out, being challenged at work has more to do with learning from incredibly smart people, and less to do with meeting deadlines via an accelerated heartrate. Why, who would have thought!
Anyway, I now have drops for my eye and permission to put my feet up and read more Murder on the Orient Express.
